POWER OUTAGES AT RV PARKS: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

by Emily Lawrence

RV power outages can be frustrating, but with preparation, they don’t have to ruin your trip. Equip your rig with a surge protector to protect appliances, carry a portable generator for backup power, and bring battery packs or solar chargers for small devices. Keep a stocked 72-hour kit, flashlights, and non-electric light sources ready for emergencies, and learn to conserve battery power by limiting appliance use. If temperatures become extreme, adjust with clothing, ventilation, or consider breaking camp. Always check for utility updates and stay safe until power is restored.
