RVers Beware: Wildlife To Be Cautious Of This Fall

10/17/2025

Fall RV camping brings stunning foliage and peaceful escapes, but it also means more wildlife activity. As animals prepare for winter, RVers should stay alert and take precautions.

Bears: Foraging increases during fall. Store food securely, clean cooking areas, and carry bear spray when hiking.

Deer & Elk: Mating season makes them more active and unpredictable on roads. Drive carefully at dawn and dusk, and avoid swerving if one crosses.

Moose: Their size makes collisions deadly. Slow down in moose areas and give them space.

Snakes: More active before hibernation. Stick to trails, wear boots, and watch where you step.

Wasps & Bees: Often seek shelter in RVs. Keep vents screened and avoid strong scents.

Rodents: Looking for warmth inside RVs. Seal entry points and store food tightly.

Coyotes & Wolves: Keep pets leashed and food secured; make yourself appear larger if encountered.

Enjoy autumn safely! With a few precautions, your RV fall adventure can be both beautiful and worry-free.
